Cap de setmana

Brunch at Cafe Esprit (5th time I order the same thing), Italian dining at Trattoria Salvatore (I craved anchovies, still don't know why) and Tatort watching at Pools (as always). And a great spring-time weather, with the greyest of the skies and the purest sunlight. 

Once upon a time...

Beautiful morning spent walking around the little town of Hann.Münden, in Hesse. This whole area is one of Germany's most charming ones, and it was once home to the Grimm brothers, who were clearly inspired by the surroundings when it came to write their dreamy (yet spooky) tales. 

An afternoon in List, Hannover

Tuesday afternoon, which was a grey and warm one, was spent walking around the western area of List. The family-oriented, middle class, hood offers great charm, with beautiful colorful old houses, cobblestone tree-lined streets and a wide variety of restaurants. I stopped for a while at Hannover's answer to the whole hipster coffee-loving scene, Kaffee kann ich, and then went down thru the lively Lister Meile to the Hauptbahnhof. 

A home that's not a home

Last time I visited Hamburg, we stayed at a classic Hamburg penthouse in Eimsbüttel, and although we were just there for two nights, it felt truly like our little home. Enjoying a sun flooded breakfast at our table was one of the best moments of this trip. 

Being able to feel like you can call Hamburg home, even for just a couple of days, is an incredibly magical thing.
