late sunny winter

Spring seems not to be ready to show up in this part of the world, but one has to try to make the most out of those little moments when life wants to come back and shine, even if it means thinking that 4 degrees celsius is spring weather, or just holding your tears at the sight of a patch of orange flowers, or being at a terrace just because it's sunny, and why wouldn't you.

16. Architecture

Some buildings spotted around the 16 Arrondisement in Paris. In my opinion, the best area to understand Paris architectural history.

Der Turm

Starting the Paris related posts with the biggest cliché.
Nonetheless, I will never get tired of its beauty.

Snow Gestern - Heute

Hopefully, but sadly at the same time, the last photos of Göttingen under the snow. From yesterday and today, when the storm was gone and the sun shined, giving us hope.

a Sunday in Göttingen

Porridge with raspberry jam in bed, lazy reading, red wine and spanish cheese while cooking lunch, heading to the city centre, fresh waffles with sour cherries and whipped cream at Cafe Esprit and Tatort watching at Pools (couldn't have taken a better shot, Til Schweiger being slapped in the face).

Stadtfriedhof

A couple of weeks ago, on a typical winter Göttingen afternoon, we visited the main cemetery in town. The walk was a pleasant one, a cold, grey, frozen, lonely one. The majority of the graves are pretty old, with that simple german elegance, and full of old professors, and some nobel prize winners, resting under the green grass.

3 days of sun

We enjoyed three straight days of sun in Göttingen, which felt awkward in an extremely comforting way. Everybody just seems to be in a silently awaited world, filled with ice-creams, outdoor reading, thin jackets, flowers, coffee time on the streets...
Tomorrow we will gradually go back to colder weather, with some snow expected next week. It was a short-lived dream, but germans sure know how to make the most out of it.
