Breakfast at Eclair au Café, Hamburg

I first saw Eclair au Café during my second visit to Hamburg, and loved the cozyness of the space and the outdoor french-village-like chairs. On my last visit, as we were staying in Altona, we just had to walk 15 minutes away to the little street in Ottensen where one can find this tiny charming boulangerie.
This is no cutesy, bohemian, Amélie nor Ladurée, Avenue Montaigne french classic place for those expecting to feel like they are in "Paris". Eclair au Café is a family-run business that delivers a real french experience. The decoration is traditional, with just two little tables and space for up to 6 people overall, and with some french books laying around. And of course, the real France comes in form of buttery, flaky pain au chocolat, croissants, crusty baguettes and of course, soft, creamy eclairs.

If we add up a real nice staff who will mainly talk to you in french (germans love that), Eclair au Café really is a little piece of France to be enjoyed with all senses.
